Slightly overshadowed by the 4Chan stunt that's apparently seen hundreds of porn clips uploaded to the video site tagged as content for kiddies, YouTube has revealed an interesting stat.

It seem the world's favourite video sharing site now sees a considerable 20 hours of video uploaded around the world every single minute.

Putting this into context of how the site is expanding, YouTube says in mid-2007, 6 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute. Then it grew to 8 hours per minute, then 10, then 13.

January of this year saw 15 hours uploaded every minute and the YouTube team wants to see 24 hours ("a full day's worth of video") uploaded every minute soon.

The video site has also launched a new feature that allows users to record a video response immediately after watching a video.

YouTube explains the new feature: "When the video you're watching ends, an icon encouraging you to respond will appear in the player. Clicking on the icon will activate your webcam and immediately bring you into the conversation".
