YouTube is trialling a new feature that will enable viewers to answer quiz-like questions while watching a video.

The Video Questions Editor is currently only in beta but it allows people who upload videos to YouTube to add questions to their clips and to specify at what points they should pop up during the video.

YouTube states on the site that the feature allows “multiple questions to be displayed on top of your video during playback that a viewer can answer”.

Questions can be posted in a multiple-choice format, with quizmasters able to offer hints if someone is repeatedly getting the wrong answer, as well as revealing when a correct answer has been selected.

But before we get too excited, YouTube has made it clear that the Video Questions Editor is currently only something it's experimenting with.

“There is no plan for long-term support of the feature and may be removed at any time without prior notification,”the video-sharing site says.
