Did you know that, on average, Pocket-lint readers spent a whopping 76 hours watching YouTube in 2010?

An incredible figure that is made no less astonishing even when you consider that 47.3 per cent of all statistics are simply made up on the spot, and haven't been researched at all.

Whether our 76 hour guesstimate is correct or not isn't really important - the fact remains that people watch a heck of a lot of YouTube videos.

In fact, in 2010 people watched more than 700 billion YouTube videos and uploaded more than 13 million hours of footage. And these aren't shoddy made up stats like ours, these are genuine and come direct from the video giant itself.

And to celebrate, YouTube has produced the video above showing off the top 10 videos of 2010, along with a brilliant video-rich, flash-based, timeline that gives a great overview of what videos have been popular during 2010.

"It’s time to rewind back through the YouTube videos that people in the US and around the world were watching and searching for in 2010," said Mia Quagliarello, YouTube's community manager.

"These lists of most-watched videos reflect the people, places and events that captured our collective attention and imagination throughout the year."

Top of the pile is the incredibly bad Bed Intruder Song, which has been watched more than 47 million times since its release in October.

The full top 10, along with more statistics can be found over at the YouTube blog and you can interact with the brilliant timeline at the Rewind page on YouTube.
