Virgin Media bundles free 08 numbers with £18 30 day SIM-only plan

As part of an incentive to attract customers to its VIP SIM-only tariffs, Virgin Media has created an all-inclusive 30-day plan that now includes unlimited calls to 0800, 0870, 0845 and 0808 numbers.
Priced at £18 a month, the new plan runs on a rolling 30-day contract rather than a set monthly period of 12, 18 or 24 months. It also includes unlimited calls, texts and 3G data for the price. SIM cards are available in all sizes too, especially now that Virgin Media also carries the iPhone.
"We're delighted to be the first to offer inclusive calls to 08 numbers on a 30 day, SIM-only mobile contract," said Jamie Heywood, director of mobile for Virgin Media.
"Unlike our competitors who reserve the best SIM-only deals for 12 month contracts, we believe customers should get top bang for their buck on a 30-day plan."
The £18 a month VIP Plus tariff is available from Virgin Media stores, over the phone or on the company's website.
Ofcom recently demanded that companies start to make 0800 numbers free from mobiles, and this is clearly a first step for Virgin Media.
