Toshiba announced the launch of the SD-P120DT portable DVD player, adding a third model to Toshiba's current range of players, at IFA 2007.
Boasting an upright design, the 12.1-inch player has an integrated digital tuner for Freeview channels and radio so would suit anyone not wanting to miss out on films and TV when away from home.
The 12-inch LCD panel has 800 x 480 resolution, and thanks to the IPS projection system, a 170 degree viewing angle, which means more than one person can view the player at any one time.
The three hour battery life means you should be able to watch a whole DVD in one sitting while the headphone socket means you can do so without disturbing others.
The built-in 4-in-1 memory card reader (SD, MMC, Memory Stick and XD) will help justify the unit's space in your luggage as it means you can use the unit to instantly view your holiday pics on a decent sized screen.
The player is compatible with DVD-Video, DVD-R and DVD-RW and includes HDMI input and component video output for connecting to camcorders, games consoles and other AV equipment.
Pricing and launch date details to be confirmed.
