Toshiba has launched the FF1 LED projector designed with portability in mind.

The projector runs on batteries and uses LEDs instead of lamps. The LEDs consume very little energy and expel only a small amount of heat, making them both cost-effective and environmentally-friendly.

The device weighs just 565g, and operates on battery power alone for up to 2 hours.

The LED has an operating life approaching 10,000 hours, which means that it's unlikely to need replacing. It projects an image using a digital mirror device chip with a high contrast ration to deliver razor-sharp, crisp images.

The FF1 can be used both for presentation and for watching movies, as it features built-in speakers and comes with a folding screen. It also has a USB port so that presentataions stored on a flash memory stick can be displayed through the device without the need for a PC.

The price of the FF1 is about £637 ex VAT.
