Sony has launched the "sleek, chic" DAV-X10 home cinema system.
The new system ofers glossy black "understatement" with invisible "light to the touch" controls and comprises of two tiny speakers and a compact "hideaway" subwoofer which apparently deliver virtual surround sound thanks to Sony S-Force PRO Front Surround technology.
Keeping those Sony technologies firmly at the top of the agenda, the DMPORT connectivity means you can use it to play music from your Sony Walkman MP3 player, it'll hook up to your Sony Ericsson Walkman phone via an extra Bluetooth adaptor, and offers one-button operation via the HDMI cable if you've got a Sony Bravia high definition television.
The DAV-X10 appears to be super-easy to set up - one cable connects it to the mains, another to your TV, and one lead to each speaker. If you then put the supplied microphone where you would normally sit, at the push of a button, the system sets itself up.
Available from September, price to be confirmed.
