Sky has announced its preliminary financial results for the year ended 30 June 2007 and the figures show strong customer take up across nearly all its product range.
Sky's recent advertising campaigns have aggressively targeted rival's customer bases - especially Virgin Media customers who lost Sky channels when Virgin took over NTL Telewest's cable television service.
Highlights of the announcements include record new customers of 349,000, up 20% year-on-year.
The net customer additions of 90,000 is up 17% year-on-year to 8.582 million.
HD subscribers increase massively by 48,000 to 292,000 and Sky Broadband customers increase by 259,000 to 716,000.
James Murdoch, the chief executive of BSkyB stated: "Our transformation continues to gather pace".
"Today we are adding new customers at the fastest rate since analogue switch-off; we are adding more broadband customers than any other provider..."
"...Looking forward, we will continue to grow our share of an enlarged sector opportunity by delivering a superior customer experience, investing in the products and services customers want and by continuing to offer exceptional value to all our customers."
