The OLED association has shown off a transparent television at this year's CES in Las Vegas made by Samsung.

The technology, which is actually called TOLED, offers a screen that is 70-85% transparent when switched off, nearly as clear as the glass or plastic on which it's built on.

The end result is that you can see objects on the other side when the television is on.

Samsung who have developed the technology aren't sure where it would be used, however they do say that it could be commercially available within the next 2 - 3 years.

One suggestion might be on a car windscreen giving you a heads up display.

We will keep you posted.
