Samsung Electronics has today announced the new Samsung HT-TXQ120 Home Theatre System, which they claim is the world's first full 1080p upscaling DVD entertainment system.

One of two systems launched today, as well as a range of separate DVD players, this 5.1 set up will give you 1000 watts of power.

Including full HDMI in/out capabilities and a USB port for media players this is also wireless ready.

In addition, the Samsung HT-TXQ120 includes Samsung's Anynet+ technology which enables you to network your home entertainment through one remote control.

The glossy piano black, and the "tall boy" speakers are design notes that most blokes wouldn't object to sharing lounge space with.

As well as playing film DVDs, the Samsung HT-TXQ120 also offers DVD audio and SACD compatibility and playback of a range of disk formats which include MP3, WMA, Divx and JPEG.

The Samsung HT-TXQ120 is available now for a smidge under £900.
