Samsung really is serious about its web TV apps. Big names like Netflix, Blockbuster, Yahoo and USA Today have already been on board for a while now and we recently told you how Lovefilm had got in on the act too.
Now it's the turn of Facebook and Google Maps to step on board the good ship Samsung, with those TV apps coming soon.
“The addition of Google Maps and Facebook to Samsung Apps shows our commitment to providing quality content and applications across multiple devices and expanding the connected TV experience for our consumers,” said Eric Anderson, vice president of content and product solutions for Samsung Electronics America.
“Now, users can enjoy leading location-based and social services directly on their connected TV, Blu-ray player, or Blu-ray home theatre system.”
The Blu-ray devices include all 2010 rdevices and, as far as TVs are concerned, you should have no bother picking up the apps on the following models: C650, C750, C6500, C6510, C6600, C6900, C7000, C8000 and C9000.
