Philips has debuted a Wireless HDMI box at IFA in Berlin, Germany that will let you stream devices like a Blu-ray player to your TV from the other side of the room.

The technology, which Philips has confirmed is unlikely to come to the UK in the short term, will let you relocate or even hide your set-top box and AV components up to 20 metres away while still sending a 1080p/30 HD signal.

The Wireless HDTV link, as it will be called, has two digital HDMI connections and two component connections.

Priced at 599.99 euros the box of tricks will work with all television sets rather than just Philips models.
