Philips has announced new TVs for 2019 and one of these introductions is the Philips 8804. What's exciting about this model is that it adds sound from Bowers & Wilkins which will potentially make this one of the best sounding LCDs on the market.

In 2018 Philips announced the partnership with Bowers & Wilkins, adding higher quality sound to its flagship OLED television, the OLED+ 903.

When reviewing that TV we found the sound to be exemplary, explaining the price jump over the 803 model. Simply put, if you want an all-in TV that delivers on sound, then the Philips 8804 is probably going to be it - the first LCD TV to benefit from the partnership. Philips has confirmed that this is the same sound arrangement on the LCD, so the performance should be identical.

Sitting at the heart of this TV is the next-gen P5 Perfect Picture Engine, and it supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, HLG and HDR 10+, so you're well covered for HDR formats.

Naturally it's a 4K HDR TV with three-sided Ambilight and it's all powered by the latest version of Android TV. That brings with it Google Assistant, with a button on the remote to give you voice control over your TV and it will also work with Alexa.

The new Philips 8804 will be available in 50, 55 and 65-inch sizes, with that underslung B&W sound system covered in Kvadrat cloth.

There's no word on pricing for this premium TV, but it will be available in the first half of 2019.
