Netflix subscribers in the UK and Ireland received a boost today after it was confirmed the new season of hit comedy series Arrested Development would be available exclusively to the online streaming service.

Season four will arrive in early 2013 to add to seasons one to three that are already available to watch. Other comedies to be made available include Modern Family and The League.

“Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and we are incredibly excited to bring it back for British and Irish fans,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.

“As today’s announcement with Twentieth Century Fox clearly shows, we’re continuing to add all kinds of great content for our UK and Ireland to enjoy when and how they want it.”

It’s not just comedy fans that are being catered for. Sons of Anarchy, the American remake of Danish hit The Killing and Lie to Me are all also being made available.

Netflix in the UK and Ireland is available for £5.99 a month, though customers can enjoy a one-month trial period for free.
