Wuaki.tv has partnered with LG Electronics, bringing the online streaming service and its entire catalogue of movies and TV shows to LG Smart TVs.

Wuaki.tv is an on-demand internet media company and subsidiary of e-commerce giant Rakuten. It is accessible via Xbox 360, PC, iPad, Android and now LG's Smart TV range. As part of the new partnership, LG Smart TVs from 2012 and 2013 will have a dedicated Wuaki.tv app.

The app provides options for rental, purchase and subscription streaming through LG’s Smart platform. Content varies from the latest blockbuster releases to hit TV shows, including productions from major Hollywood studios and UK distributors.

“Smart TVs have become increasingly commonplace in the average living room, in both Spain and the UK, and this is reflected in how consumers are using the Wuaki.tv service, hence we are very happy to agree this partnership with a top TV manufacturer such as LG,” said Jacinto Roca, founder and CEO of Wuaki.tv, in a press release.

The LG partnership follows previous partnerships with Samsung and Panasonic, suggesting Wuaki.tv is taking an expansion into the smart TV market very seriously. In fact, Wuaki.tv said it is now available on most smart TVs in the UK today.
