Humax says it has "super-sized" its PVR-9300T Freeview+ digital TV recorder with a 500GB hard drive, up from the 320GB of the previous model.

The two built-in digital tuners mean viewers can record two Freeview channels at the same time, and the claim is that the drive can store up to 300 hours of programming.

The black PVR-9300T offers an "easy-to-use" 7-day on-screen guide, and thanks to the "+" functionality gets series linking.

The split recording function means viewers can record two-part programmes, such as films, that may have a break in the middle for a news bulletin.

The new home cinema gadget also offers live pause and instant rewind functions and schedule tracking that means any broadcaster changes to the programme schedule won't mess up your recording.

There's also "HDMI up-scaling" and 1-watt power consumption in standby mode.

The Humax 500GB PVR-9300T can be purchased from John Lewis stores and online across the UK, priced at around £249.
