Humax's new Freeview HD player pictured

Freeview HD will roll-out in the UK next year, with 50% of the population due to see the high def upgrade in time for next June's World Cup. The bad news is that it will require the purchase of a new set-top box.
We don't have much to bring you on this other than a glimpse, but here's PVR expert Humax's next-gen Freeview HD box, due to be revealed at a press event in December.
First unveiled as a prototype at the IBC broadcasting trade event, the FOX-HD-T2 is due to launch in early 2010, so will likely be one of the first high def offerings to market.
We will bring you more on the new HD set-top offering as soon as we can prise it out of Humax, and we'll keep you informed of all Freeview HD developments in the mean time.
