While you can now get a Blu-ray player for under £100, Denon is forging onward at the high end of the market with the introduction of the new £1900 DBP-4010UD, a "state-of-the-art" effort that's said to offer tech found in the reference-class DVD-A1UD model.

As well as playback of Blu-ray discs and up-conversion of DVDs, the DBP-4010UD can play Super Audio CDs, DVD-Audio discs and bog standard CDs.

A Profile 2.0 device, there's an Ethernet port that allows for firmware updates, BD-Live interactivity and Web Control support.

The player offers a memory card reader and support for various media formats including AVCHD, DivX, JPEG, MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV.

The DBP-4010UD will be available at the end of November in a black or silver finish at a suggested retail price of £1899.99.
