The much anticipated BBC documentary drama about Grand Theft Auto has Bill Paxton and Daniel Radcliffe confirmed as stars. The working title for the documentary is "Game Changer".

Bill Paxton, of eighties action film fame including Aliens, will star as Jack Thompson, the lawyer who was dedicated to killing off GTA.

Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter, will play the lead character, Grand Theft Auto creator Sam Houser.

The series will be largely based on Daniel Kushner's book Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto.

After creating the game and founding Rockstar Games Houser was under repeated attack by activist and lawyer Jack Thompson. The ensuing battle was between GTA's right to freedom of expression and the perceived need to curtail violence in computer games. Thompson was disbarred in 2008 for inappropriate behavior.

Grand Theft Auto V was the highest selling game of all time in the UK. It also made more money than most big budget Hollywood blockbuster movies surpassing $1 billion in its first three days on sale.

When the drama will be released has not been announced but now actors have been confirmed it shouldn't be long before filming gets underway.
