BlackBerry lovers (RIM lovers would have just been too much wouldn't it?) are in for a BBC flavoured treat as the iPlayer has landed in the BlackBerry App World.

The official app means that BlackBerry users can now view the best of the Beeb on the go, and no longer be jealous of their iPhone and Android (via unofficial means) friends.

The BlackBerry iPlayer app is, of course, free and will work with the 9250, 9550, 9700 and 9800 with BlackBerry 5.0 OS or higher loaded up.

RIM is saying that a Wi-Fi connection is required for an "optimal viewing experience" but has also confirmed that Three and Vodafone (contract only) are going to let it run on their 3G networks.

So get over to the App World and download it now. And sorry US readers, it's UK-only.
