Traxdata has launched what it describes as its next-generation movie player - the "USB Player".

By connecting a USB storage device to the USB Player, users can play their multimedia files on their TV including movies, music and photos.

The device can be connected to any televisions with HDMI, component and composite connectors and claims upscaling abilities up to 1080i.

The USB Player plays the following media types: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Xvid, MP3, WAV, JPEG, VOB, AVI and DAT. It also supports a range of subtitle files: SRT, IDX/SUB, ASS, SSA, SMI, PSB, SUB (type II).
