BenQ has launched two new projector models designed for small spaces, but big pictures.

First up is the MP771 XGA projector which can project a 74-inch picture from a metre away.

This delivers 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness, BrilliantColor technology, 3D Colour Management and Wall Colour Correction Technology.

At £857.50, it's suitable for home use, but also business use because it is more practical and safe for presenters to stand between the projector and audience without the projector lamp shining into their eyes thanks to the short throw distance.

The second launch is the MP522ST XGA projector, which, as well as having a short throw distance, has a super-quiet noise level of 26/31 dB (eco/normal modes).

It delivers 2000 ANSI lumens of brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, XGA resolution (1024 x 768) and an integrated 5-watt speaker.

It is able to project a 55-inch or 140cm image from a metre away thanks to its aspherical lens

It also offers Wall Colour Correction Technology, a Quick Cooling function, and is built around Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology "for sharper fine details and easy-to-read text".

The MP522ST is £499.
