Evesham's two newest products offer low-priced home entertainment solutions but still incorporate the latest technology.

The first is the DVD1000, which upscales normal DVDs into High Definition Digital Video Streams.

Evesham likens the quality of the upscaled images to swapping from VHS to DVD all over again.

The DVD1000 comes with an HDMI connector at the rear for direct connection to an HD-ready TV, although the device also functions with older, non-HD TVs.

Other features include MP3, Jpeg, and DivX playback, so you can watch some downloaded films – although MPEG4 is not supported.

The second device is a personal video recorder, the PVR160 Twin Tuner Personal Video Recorder, to be exact.

It incorporates a Digital Terrestrial Freeview receiver an a 7 day Electronic Programme Guide so that you can pre-schedule weekly viewing.

The 160GB HDD can store up to 80 hours of programming, and you can set the recording for daily, weekly, or monthly recording.

With Twin Tuners, the recorder also lets you watch one Digital TV channel whilst recording on another, while the Timeshift function lets you rewind up to half an hour of whatever you've been watching.

The DVD1000 is available for £69.99 including VAT, while the PVR160 is £149.99 including VAT from Evesham's
