A new ultra small TV tuner has been announced in the UK that will mean you stand a good chance of being able to catch all the World Cup action without being caught by your boss.

AVerMedia Technologies has announced the launch of the smallest digital thumb drive TV Tuner, the AVerTV DVB-T Volar.

The new DVB-T Volar weighs a mere 17.5g and measures in at 7 x 2.5 x 1.1cm making it ideal to slip in your pocket and out of sight when you boss heads your way.

Supporting Linux operating systems, compatible with Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005 and the forthcoming Windows Vista operating system, as well as being HDTV ready (both 1080i/720p), the DVB-T Volar offers the best in up-to-date and future digital entertainment.

Its proprietary software program, AVerTV 6 includes; Digital Teletext Support (MHEG 5), Video Quality Enhancement, PIP/POP and Widescreen mode.

According to AVerMedia, the DVB-T Volar draws less than 2 watts of power from a notebook battery and there?' a Power Standby Mode to also help reduce power consumption as well.

It is due out in May but there are no prices as yet.
