AMC is at Comic-Con in San Diego, where it released the season six trailer for The Walking Dead. But that's not all: it also released a trailer for the show's spin-off series as well as confirmed a premiere date.
The spin-off, called Fear The Walking Dead, is set in Los Angeles and follows a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two children in the same zombie apocalypse from The Walking Dead. The idea behind the new series is to show what the world looked like as it was transforming into the apocalypse, rather than the aftermath.
The show is considered a prequel series, and one of the leads is Kim Dickens, who you might also recognise from the FX show Sons of Anarchy, among other things. The show's first trailer, which is 4-minutes long and only debuted just moments ago, shows Dickens with her family before (and right as) all hell breaks loose.
The first season takes place roughly around the same time as Rick Grimes, the lead in The Walking Dead, was in his coma. Apart from the trailer, AMC announced Fear the Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere on 23 August.
