You can now use a PlayStation 4 to watch your favourite HBO shows.

Sony has announced the HBO Go app for PS4 is now available for download, and that the app works just like the PS3 version. You must first authenticate your console with your cable/satellite service through in order to begin watching HBO’s best shows, including True Detective and Game of Thrones.

The popular HBO Go app first landed for the PS3 in 2014 and was supposed to arrive for the PS4 shortly after, though specific launch dates were not detailed. Flash forward one year later, and the app has just become available. HBO Go is currently also available on a number of platform, such as the Xbox One since November.

HBO GO is an online video service that offers original content from HBO, an American premium cable network. It is only offered as a complementary service to existing HBO television subscribers, though standalone subscription plans are reportedly set to launch in line with the Game of Thrones season premiere in April.

When that does happen, HBO fans outside of the US might finally have access to the cable network's expansive catalogue.
