Sharp's Quattron Pro TVs to launch in Europe in spring 2014

Sharp is at the 2014 CES tradeshow in Las Vegas, where the company has shown off its 2014 Quattron Pro-equipped televisions expected to launch in Europe this spring.
Called Quattron+ in the US, Quattron Pro is somewhere between 1080p and Ultra HD. It delivers 2.5 times the resolution of Full HD, meaning it can display 4K content. Quattron Pro also features Sharp’s Upscaler technology, so it'll convert Full HD or lower-resolution content to 4K.
Quattron Pro further features Sharp's second-generation, four-colour pixel technology. It gives RGB an extra yellow pixel and serves up brighter and more natural colours. LG said televisions with Quattron Pro "burst with brightness and over a billion shades of true-to-life colour, particularly noticeable in the reproduction of gold and yellow, green and blue, and brown tones".
