Sharp has released a set top box and portable television combo that allows you to beam various media sources to the screen while out and about.

The idea is that you hook the set top box up to whatever media source you are after, say a Blu-ray player for example and then you send video straight to the Sharp display.

The box connects up via HDMI and can push full 1080p signals out to the Aquos Wireless Lifestyle. The set top box features four HDMI ports, built in CI+ and triple tuner to make sure you get just about every signal possible onto the screen.

If that wasn't enough, you can turn the set to box into a DVR by attaching a portable hard drive and recording programs onto it.

The Sharp Aquos Net+ function also allows you to do things like read emails or browse apps as well as the internet.

All very exciting stuff, but we can't help think an iPad and TV tuner such as Tizi might make a more logical purchase if you wanted television on the go.

Then again the sound of UVA technology, LED backlighting and 100 Hz image processing is definitely exciting, particularly when you think the screen is portable.

No exact pricing or product dimensions yet, but expect plenty more on the Wireless Lifestyle when Sharp reveals more secrets of this wireless beast.
