Another day, another leak. This time it's about a new Sony tablet that is expected to succeed the Xperia Tablet Z.
Sony's 2014 Xperia line refreshes are leaking left and right, thanks to one Twitter user who has been outing specs, press shots, and more. Notable leakster Evleaks, who goes by the handle @evleaks on Twitter, recently tweeted that a Sony Xperia tablet - codenamed Castor - is in the works. He said Castor would feature a Qualcomm-based MSM8974-AB chipset, the same processor supposedly found in the rumoured Sony Sirius flagship.
Evleaks started this week by leaking details about a compact, mini version of the Xperia Z1 ahead of the device's official announcement at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. He also shed some light on an upcoming Sony Xperia smartphone, codenamed Sirius, claiming the flagship would debut at Mobile World Congress in February with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974-AB chip and 5.2-inch display. He also said the smartphone would launch on Verizon in the US.
Going back to the Sony Castor tablet, Evleaks claimed it would launch in both 4G and Wi-Fi variants. There's no word yet on pricing or a release date, but expect to hear more about this device in the coming months. It might even debut at MWC alongside the Sony Sirius smartphone flagship. There have also been whispers of another high-end smartphone, codenamed Canopus, popping up in recent weeks.
