Samsung seems set to officially unleash its tablet to the world at IFA 2010, which begins on 3 September.

The device, which has been spotted out in the wild recently, will get its first legitimate public outing at the Berlin expo, a show which has seen many high-profile launches in the past.

“We will showcase our latest Smart TV and interchangeable lens camera models at the show”, a Samsung source told South Korean newspaper JoonAng Daily. “We will also showcase our tablet PC for the first time officially”.

So, what do we know about the device?

Well, reports suggest that it is a 7-inch tablet with a Super-AMOLED display. It will be running Android 2.2 via a nippy 1.2GHz A8 processor and the UI will feature Samsung's TouchWiz platform.

What we don't know yet is what the device will actually be called. Early reports hinted at an sPad title, then Pocket-lint heard whispers that it would in fact be called the Samsung Galaxy Tape. And the most recent reports suggest it will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

We're going to hedge our bets and go for the Samsung sPad Galaxy Tape Tab. It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Keep your eyes firmly glued to Pocket-lint during IFA because we'll be on hand with all the big news, live from the event.
