LG's 8.3-inch Android tablet will be released in the UK before Christmas, the company has revealed.

Previous reports had said only that the LG G Pad 8.3 would be rolled-out to Europe as well as other regions, and the company has a history of not necessarily including the UK in European plans. For example, the LG Optimus G Pro smartphone was released in mainland Europe as part of a rollout to 40 countries, but didn't include the UK. This time though, we will definitely get the new tablet device soon.

In addition, LG has announced that the G Pad 8.3 will cost £259.99. It will also be available in Ireland.

As with models in other regions, the UK and Ireland G Pad 8.3 will come with an 8.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage.

The battery is a beefy 4,600mAh and the tablet features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing cam.

The operating system is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean from launch and two variants will be available, in black or white. It is a Wi-Fi-only device.
