HTC has opened up the order process for its 7-inch tablet, the HTC Flyer, with models starting at £479.99 - the tablet is also available in store.

That price is for the 16GB model and, interestingly, it's the same price that online retailer Expansys opened its pre-order page at last week.

We say interestingly because the official HTC pre-order channel states: "Powered by Expansys on behalf of HTC". So be sure to pay attention to future Expansys HTC price-leaks, because it looks as if they've now got the inside knowledge.

The 32GB variety is priced up at a wallet-busting £599.99. Now, this is £20 more than the 3G 32GB version of the Motorola Xoom that is available from the Carphone Warehouse.

So it's 10.1-inches of dual-core Honeycomb fun and enough money for a few pints and a pack of pork scratchings, or 7-inches of single-core Gingerbread action.

The choice comes down to personal preference for fandroids, but we're pretty sure we know which one will be the more popular.
