Asus has announced details on the pricing of its Transformer Pad tablet.

For £399 you’ll be able to get your hands on the Android-running tablet, which will come bundled with a mobile keyboard dock.

Available to order online from Currys and PC World at the start of May, the Asus Transformer Pad will be in both stores later that month before rolling out to other retailers from late June.

Though the blue version of the tablet will be available from launch, fans of the white and red variants will have to wait until late June and late July respectively.

Asus has already made a name for itself in the tablet world and the Transformer Pad looks set to be a welcome addition.

Running on the latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 quad-core CPU making it one powerful machine.

Taking into account its specs and boxed-in keyboard, we expected it to retail for more than £399.

UPDATE: Asus has confirmed that the blue version will be available to buy from both PC World and Currys online and in store from 18 May. It can be pre-ordered now.
