EE has announced that both the new iPad mini and the iPad 4 will be available on its 4G network when the two Apple devices arrive next month.

It may not come as the biggest surprise – EE is the only UK network currently capable of providing 4G network speeds and its logo even appeared in the background at Apple’s latest launch – but the announcement is sure to tempt customers keen to experience the UK’s fastest ever network speeds. Assuming the price is right.

Though there’s no word on pricing for the EE 4G iPad mini or iPad 4, don’t expect it to come cheap. EE has been criticised after recently revealing its 4G price plans for mobile handsets, which start at £36 a month for just 500MB of data. To get 8GB you’ll need to fork out up to £56 a month.

Both Orange and T-Mobile - the two operators that fall under the EE brand - will also sell both the iPad mini and the iPad 4 on HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA network speeds.

Three and Vodafone have also announced that they will be stocking the iPad mini and iPad 4, though neither will be able to offer 4G network speeds, at least initially.
