A queue has been forming outside the Apple Store in London's Regent Street since Sunday, with eager fanboys hoping to be the first to get their hands on the new iPad, launched when the doors open at 8am on Friday, 16 March. However, a Pocket-lint source has informed us that you will actually be able to buy one from midnight, eight hours beforehand.

We have been told that PC World in Tottenham Court Road, London, will be opening its doors at 12.01am on the Friday, and will have the new iPad in stock.

Additionally, for day one buyers outside of the capital, there will be early openings in other major British cities, including Birmingham and Edinburgh. We have heard that major PC Worlds in both with be selling the new iPad from 7am, a full hour before Apple Stores.

So, if you want to be the first to get your hands on the new Apple tablet, it seems that a week long's wait in the cold and rain will have been in vain. Which rhymes. Nice.
