Following up on the launch of its first netbook, a fairly by-the-numbers effort, Archos has announced a whole future "MiniPC" range, including a 9-inch tablet.

The Archos 9 PCTablet offers a full touch-sensitive 9-inch screen and will run the Windows 7 operating system, so it's not due to go on sale until the autumn, presumably October.

The 9-incher, to be bundled with a keyboard and a case, will be followed by a 12-incher scheduled for launch at the start of 2010.

Archos says the resistive screen "allows emails and documents to be composed easily via a virtual keyboard, and the innovative optical trackball with 2 buttons allows easy navigation on screen".

Equipped with the new Z515 Intel processor, the touch tablet will also offer hard drive options up to 120GB, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 and a TV tuner.

We will bring you more information closer to the device's launch.

UPDATE: Archos has revealed pricing. The 9 PCtablet will be available in autumn 2009 at £449.99 for the 80GB version and £499.99 for 160GB. A 12-inch version will be available early 2010.
