Tesco has announced its new tablet in the Hudl 2, and it looks like a long leap ahead from the position of its predecessor. Especially considering that low £129 price.

The Hudl 2 has grown in size with a larger 8.3-inch screen that sports an impressive 1920 x 1200 HD display for a decent 273ppi.

The power of the Hudl 2 has also jumped forward now sporting a 1.83GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage which is expandable to 48GB.

The tablet comes with dual-band Wi-Fi for connectivity and Tesco claims a good 8 hours on a single charge.

The Hudl 2 comes with a 5-megapixel rear snapper and 1.2-megapixel front facing camera.

The operating system is the latest version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat. There is no word on whether this will be updated when Android L arrives but it's likely that will be the case.

Tesco also includes its Blinkbox media software to offer music, books, TV shows and movies from one place.

The Hudl 2 is aimed at families and with that in minds comes with "some simple tools to help keep you and them safe and happy", says Tesco.

All that and it'll come with its own Hudl helpline for anyone having any troubles. Presumably it's not water-proof so where kids are concerned this may proove useful.

The whole lot arrives of 9 October and can be snapped up for a wallet-friendly £129 in either Jazzy Blue, Zesty Orange, Slate Black, Rocket Red, Tropical Turquoise, Dreamy White, Perky Purple and Bubblegum Pink.
