T-Mobile G-Slate priced for US at $529.99

T-Mobile in the US has just confirmed that the LG G-Slate will cost $529.99 when it launches later this spring, putting it up against the Apple iPad and the BlackBerry PlayBook in the US.
“In January T-Mobile announced the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) based G-Slate with Google by LG. In February came hardware details and several device features. Now comes something else to differentiate it from competitors: the price,” says the company on its blog.
“The G-Slate, expected to be available nationwide later this spring, will be available for $529.99 with a two year contract for current T-Mobile customers after a $100 mail-in rebate.”
That could translate to a £330 price point in the UK.
The G-Slate, or LG Optimus Pad as it will be known elsewhere, will feature a dual-core processor, a 8.9-inch screen, 32 GB of internal storage and HDMI output, as well as dual cameras to let you film in 3D.
T-Mobile also announced several content partners for the device. With the new G-Slate, customers can access TV shows, magazines, games and more with the following pre-installed applications. Users will get T-Mobile TV, Need for Speed SHIFT HD, and Zinio eReader.
