Rather than be a smaller version of the existing iPad, rumours emanating from the technology factory districts in Shenzhen, China suggest that the much-touted 7-inch version of the tablet will look more like the iPhone 4.
Shanzai.com claims that, through idle gossip on the Shenzhen social scene, that Apple is definitely lining up a 7-inch slate and has created five different tablet designs, in an effort to throw journalists and fanbois off the scent for the real model. However, the site claims that it knows what the actual device will look like: "The final design will, in fact, bear more resemblance to the iPhone 4 stylings than the original iPad design," it states.
And there's good reason to think so, as the rumours abound that the new iPad will feature FaceTime and, therefore, need a front-mounted camera. At present, the current device doesn't have the space for such an addition.
If these rumours turn out to be true, Pocket-lint wonders if we'll ever see a white iPad? Come to think of it, will we ever see a white iPhone 4?
