With the launch of Hitman 3, it was meant to be possible to import levels from Hitman 2 (if you owned it) into Hitman 3. There were, however, initial teething problems with getting Steam and Epic Games to play nicely.

If you owned Hitman 2 on Steam but wanted to connect it to Epic Games in order to import the levels then you've been out of luck until now. Earlier this month IO Interactive said it had found a fix and promised that it would be available soon.

Now it seems the time has come.

IO Interactive took to Twitter to make the announcement:

The good news is, after the initial half-hearted fix which involved offering an access pass for the Hitman 2 locations at a discounted rate, the company has now worked a solution to allow you to import at no extra cost.

How to import Hitman 2 locations into Hitman 3

Getting started is easy enough as well. The first step is to visit this website which gives you guidance on how to get started importing locations.

If you haven't already, we'd recommend signing up for an IO Interactive account beforehand as it makes things a lot easier. So either sign up or login here

You need to make sure the games are associated with your IO interactive account. Start Hitman 2, goto settings, IO Account and then enter your email address and submit. Then close the game. Start Hitman 3 and repeat that process. Once you've done that, if you log in to your account you should see the associated games listed there as "registered products".

Then click this link to being the process of importing. Follow the instructions and you should be able to claim an Access Pass DLC for Hitman 3 for free that'll give you access to the content from Hitman 2. Simple.
