Many gamers were distraught when it was revealed that The Last of Us Part II wasn't going to arrive on 29 May. However, while the delay was originally said to be "indefinite", Sony Worldwide Studios has set a new date. And it's not too far away.

The Last of Us 2 will now arrive on Friday 19 June 2020, just three weeks after it was originally scheduled. Woo-hoo!

The sequel to one of the best games of all time will be set five years after the events in 2013's The Last of Us - although it will eventually arrive after a longer real-world period of development. It's already suffered a number of delays since originally being announced in 2016, with the latest perhaps the most understandable.

Its latest delay was brought about because, in this current climate, Sony Interactive Entertainment didn't feel it'd be able to give it the "launch experience" that a game of this magnitude deserves.

However, it must have changed its mind - or that the additional few weeks will make a significant difference to marketing plans.

Another game to be given a set release date is Ghost of Tsushima, the action-adventure game from InFamous developer Sucker Punch.
