Sony has confirmed it will be launching a new premium range of soundbars in the coming months that will better what is already on the market from the manufacturer.
Although not willing to go into any great amount of detail, Sony executives have confirmed that the new premium soundbar models will come with HDMI and NFC.
NFC connectivity will mean that owners of phones and other capable mobile devices, like the Sony Xperia Z and Tablet Z, will be able to play and share music instantly by just tapping the speaker.
The new models are expected to be launched later in the year, most likely at the IFA trade show in Berlin in September, based on Sony’s previous launch windows.
The company has also promised that it will be adding more AV receivers before the year is out. But it yet again held back from sharing any further information at this time.
Pocket-lint is chasing down Sony execs to see if we can get any more information.
We will keep you posted.
