Sonos is the go-to company of choice when it comes to multi-room audio. We already love the Play:3 wireless system, but if information alleged to have appeared on the FCC website is anything to go by then there's a brand new Sonos Playbar just around the corner.

What, exactly, that will be we're not entirely sure, but the Playbar is said to feature dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi.

This could mean it will operate wirelessly without the need for a router-mounted Sonos Bridge, effectively cutting out the middle man and added expense of the current full system setup.

With the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas just around the corner now is the perfect time for Sonos to refresh its already successful, Deadmau5-supported range. Pocket-lint will be at the show with our eyes, and indeed ears, peeled ready to see what surfaces.
