Pure Digital has launched the EVOKE-1S, which is the "enhanced" follow-up to the EVOKE-1XT, the world’s best selling digital radio.

Improvements come with the addition ChargePAK support which offers up to 24 hours of portable listening between charges.

textSCAN and Intellitext have been added so that scrolling text can be paused and controlled as well as stored for browsing at a later date.

Other new features include a graphical OLED display, providing crystal-clear readability from any angle.

A new light sensor automatically adjusts display brightness while there are now more station presets - 30 DAB or FM in a convenient combined list.

Pure has also added an auxiliary input to connect an iPod or MiniDisc player and FM with RDS for maximum station choice.

Improvements in electronics and porting claim to give the EVOKE-1S enhanced audio compared to the already award winning EVOKE-1XT.

As well this host of improvements, your conscience can be clearer with the EVOKE-1S as it is the second member of the EcoPlus range from Pure.

The EcoPlus range and has been designed to minimise environmental impact, with a standby power consumption of less than 1W, packaging made from a minimum of 70% recycled material, with water based varnish, and documentation printed with soya-based ink on 100% recycled paper.

Last, but not least, the new radio's looks have been given a slight makeover - the real wood veneer casework that encapsulates the EVOKE has been subtly enhanced with a new grill, larger, easier-to-see buttons and metallised knobs.

The EVOKE-1S will be available in real maple or cherry from all leading electrical retailers for £99.99 in September.
