Parrot's latest designer-themed effort, the Parrot by Philippe Starck speakers unveiled in the States at the start of the year, have been announced for a UK launch.

With both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built-in, the "Zikmu" wireless speakers work with iPods, iPhones, Bluetooth-enabled phones and can stream tracks from your PC.

The NXT technology claims 360-degree "immersive" sound, and the 75cm tall devices offer a 100W total power output.

Getting a little carried away, Parrot says: "To discover an object or a place designed by Philippe Starck is to walk into a world of vivid imagination and to live a fantasy".

Getting even more carried away, Philippe Starck says: "We were not aiming to create just another speaker. Our design focused more on making the air vibrate. There is actually a three-dimensional feel to the vibration, meaning that the air is palpable, almost humanlike in presence, like a fragrance".

Fragrance or no, the Parrot by Starck wireless speakers will be available in spring 2009 from at £1200.
