Creative are looking to simplify your digital music life with the launch of two new wireless speaker systems, the D200 and D100.
The Creative D200 and D100 add to their line-up of wireless speakers, joining the ZiiSound D5, which we saw at CES, and the Inspire S2 Wireless we reviewed recently.
The Creative D200 claims to have the same "sonic soul" as their flagship ZiiSound D5, but at a lower price point. Creative tune the D200 using the same tight criteria they apply to the D5 before it leaves the factory and in a side-by-side test we witnessed today, they sound pretty close. The D200 gives you 9 watts RMS over each channel.
The Creative D100 is the entry level model and comes in a range of colours - black, pink, green and blue - to suit all persuasions and gets both mains power and the option of batteries (4x AA), which Creative promises will give you 40 hours at 75% volume. The D100 offers 2 watts RMS over each channel.
To refine the sound quality, Creative are using the apt-X codec if you use a compatible transmitter, such as the Creative iPod Transmitter (£39.99, optional), but you won't get the same audio quality if you use the default A2DP found in most Bluetooth devices.
Both systems also feature an AUX-in to plug in anything else you want to.
Hitting stores in July, the D200 can be yours for £89.99 and the D100 will set you back £59.99.
