IK Multimedia, the company that specialises in iPhone, iPod touch and iPad add-ons and accessories for musicians, has unveiled a portable speaker specifically designed for those who want to make music on the move.

The iLoud stereo speaker is battery-operated for portability and IK Multimedia claims it is studio monitor quality, able to push out 40W RMS of power. There is an on-board digital signal processor and bi-amped four driver array of neodymium loudspeakers. Its bass reflex can reach frequencies as low as 50Hz.

The battery is capable of lasting up to 10 hours between charges and it comes with Bluetooth for wireless connectivity with an iOS device. It also has a mini-jack input for other auxiliary audio devices, and there is an iRig input for guitars and microphones for iPad or iPhone processing.

The IK Multimedia iLoud speaker system is available from ikmultimedia.com and music and electronics retailers worldwide. It is priced at $299.99 in the US, 239.99 euros in Europe and £239 in the UK.
