Speakers needn't be ugly boxes, ruining the Feng Shui of your living room. That's the message from Monitor Audio, at least, who has just announced its SF1 and SF2 SoundFrame speakers.

The SF1 is the portrait version and the SF2 the landscape, but the setup is the same; both having 3.5-inch thick speakers that look like picture frames, that can be mounted flush to your walls, or even buried within.

There are 20 different designs to choose from: four photo styles, four graphical designs, five uniform colours and seven exclusive rock icon grille images licensed to Monitor Audio by world-famous rock photographer Ross Halfin.

The speakers pack Monitor Audio’s Inverted Dual-Concentric (IDC) mid/tweeter driver modules, boast a C-CAM mid driver and a tweeter that can be directed towards your listening position.

The speakers aren't cheap though. They'll hit the shops this month priced at £450 each, with the grilles costing £50 for a standard colour, print or pattern, or £100 for the Ross Halfin images. You can also have your own pictures on them for £200 a pop.
