Altec Lansing has announced the details of its latest iDevice dock - the Altec Lansing Octiv 450 - bringing your iPad into the docking party.

The 450 lets you dock and charge your iPad (as well as your iPhone or your iPod) via the 30-pin connector, and also includes a rotating arm so you can have your 9.7-inch display set to portrait or landscape.

There's even a tilt mode so you can turn your iPad typing experience into a more natural one.

The speaker setup on the 450 is enhanced for centre channel voicing for podcasts and the like, and stereo audio for all of your tunes.

“Users enjoy the iPad’s great versatility for business, entertainment and sharing audio and video content", said Adrian Bedggood, EMEA director of business management at Altec Lansing.

"Now their experience will be significantly enhanced due to upgraded audio quality and sound distribution".

"With very limited iPad accessory options on the market, Altec Lansing has created the perfect solution to hands-free viewing, greater sound delivery as well as charging capabilities all in one dock with the Octiv 450".

Alas, there's no mention of AirPlay on the 450, but it still makes for an attractive proposition for iPad owners who like to use their tablet as a media hub.

The Altec Lansing Octiv 450 audio dock will be available for £129.99 from 1 December at Apple, John Lewis, Dixons and PC World.
