Pebble confirmed late in 2013 that the Pebble appstore was coming, but has now confirmed that we'll be accessing the new store before the end of January 2014.

Alongside the announcement of a new model of Pebble smartwatch at CES 2014 - the Pebble Steel - the company has fleshed out some of the details about its store.

The Pebble appstore will be part of the existing Pebble app that you already have installed on your Android or iOS device, so it will be a one-stop shop for everything Pebble, making it easy to find the apps you can use to customise or enhance the features of the watch.

The appstore will be broken down into categories such as "daily living" and "sports and fitness" to help you find what you're looking for.

Pebble says that 3 million apps and watchfaces have been downloaded so far and things should be much more simple once there's a centralised place to find them.

In addition, Pebble has announced that Pandora, ESPN and Mercedes-Benz have joined Yelp, Foursquare, GoPro and iControl in partnering with Pebble, meaning more integrated experiences from those companies.
